The purpose of this guide is to help high school students to be active learners, to construct their own knowledge and to develop personalized learning plans to meet their individual needs, goals and achievement.  In Zimmerman, Bonner, and Kovach study of Self-regulated learning they pointed out "that students’ self-regulation can be taught and improved through the students’ own efforts" (as cited in Cho, 2004).  Students who improve their self-regulation skills work well collaboratively as well as independently.

When you have completed this guide you will have the information to strategically set your goal, assess your work and make the necessary adjustments to complete your task.
